Welcome to My Plate of View! I’m a mom of 3 and I love to cook and bake. Due to severe food allergies in our family, we have to avoid peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, milk and wheat. We also have a soy allergy in the extended family that I work around on occasion.
Since I found out my daughter had life threatening allergies in her first year of life, cooking has been a journey of trial and error for me. I’ve taken old family recipes and made ingredient changes to make the recipes safe for my daughter to eat. It brought me so much joy when I perfected a chocolate chip cookie recipe for her that tasted just like the chocolate chip cookies my mom made for me when I was a little girl!
When I bring food to family and friends gatherings people often asked me for the recipe. They can’t believe what they’re tasting is free of tree nuts, peanuts, egg, milk and wheat. I decided to start this blog not only for my daughters but to easily share dairy free, gluten free, and nut free recipes with the food allergy community. It brings me joy to share my recipes with those who live with food allergies and I hope you will find this blog helpful.
